2. Judge Claude Frollo-(i read Hugo's book recently, he doesn't resemble the book character in almost any way so i will regard him as a different person) When I first saw HoND, the only thing about it that kept me interested were two characters: Clopin(of course) and this guy. When he first appears on screen, you can just feel his evil aura. He is the ultimate personification of "The Man". He persecutes out of prejudice and religious intolerance, that is most chilling because we continue to see the same quality in leaders in our recent history. 4. Shan-Yu-many people don't like this character because he seems too stereotypical. But i think that his character was perfect for the part. He's ambitious, ruthless and cruel. I mean, he's trying to invade an entire nation for his own selfish purposes, why would he not have these qualities? He's also very mysterious and when you see him, especially his eyes, you can't help but wonder what goes on in that twisted mind of his. 5. Oogie Boogie-This guy killed me. I can't go into much detail because I haven't seen The Nightmare Before Christmas since I was um....ten. All I remember is that his song was the best. Ok, side comments: 1) I don't really consider Oogie Boogie a villain. More like an anti-hero because he was just doing his job. 2) I didn't like Shan-Yu, and not because he was stereotypical or anything, but because his character had no depth. I'm slowly appreciating him more, but I doubt he will ever be a favourite of mine. Sure he was evil, but there really wasn't enough to make me like what his role happened to be in the movie. 3) Stop by the Frollo thread for a convo on the differences between the book and the movie! I'd love your insight over there. Alright, I'm done.

SCAR!! He is down right EVIL. Not only does he try to kill a child (his own nephew), he kills his brother and destroys everything around him -- even the hyenas feel no loyalty to him in the end! Definitely the most villainous Disney character, and my favorite.

Maleficent, of course, is my favorite. Why? Well there are many reasons. I love the way she is drawn, dark. Her character is purely evil with magic to be used in that way. Her smile is chilling. Plus she just happens to be a shape shifter--hey she turns into a big bad Dragon. And finally, her pet/minion in a raven who is just as dark and evil as her, for some reason I've always loved that bird--he's the only one who could do anything right for her.

Gaston, Yzma, and Cruella are my favorites. They're villianous yet entertaining and comical as well.

Definately Maleficent. She is evil in every aspect. I mean, she sends a frost to kill flowers because they make people happy. She was very sarcastic when she finds out she was forgotten and not wanted at the celebration of the princess. Sarcasm is great!! She spends 18 years(I think) searching for this girl only to get revenge for not being invited. Let's see... Oh yeah, she makes Prince Philip suffer and doesn't plan to kill him off easily, she shows him old and trying to save his princess. It's deliciously evil.
Plus she has devil horns, is gorgeous and a voice that could chill ice cream. And her staff would quiet a rowdy concert.
She throws lightening bolts at her goblins who still love her, or maybe they fear her, I'm not sure... probably both. And then there's the magnificent dragon in the forest of thorns. If it wasn't for those scurvy fairy's Phillip woulda been gone and life woulda been good in the castle. ;D

Ooh I love them all. Life is boring without the villians. But favorites have to be Ursulla and Maleficent. I have wonderful decals of both of them on my van windows. I love hearing kids comment on them. The other day I heard a little girl telling her mom that there were bad girls on my windows.

Ok, side comments: 1) I don't really consider Oogie Boogie a villain. More like an anti-hero because he was just doing his job. . . . Alright, I'm done. OK -- I'm revisiting this argument (Gracie knows I disagree) because this site looks neglected! Villain's by nature are "just doing [their] job " -- that's what they are written to do, to be evil, to challenge the hero, and so forth. Oogie Boogie is a villain -- he satisfy's the elements of a villain. Of course, this means that Jack is a hero, in my book! Oogie Boogie opposes him, and Jack must fight to save "Sandy Claws". True, those who live in Halloween Town can be gruesome, creepy, and twisted by nature, the fact is the majority of members believe in a GOOD SCARE, NOT MURDER! That's the difference that makes Oogie Boogie a villain.
Anyone -- feel free to comment/argue/whatever!

My favorite villains have to be Frollo and Yzma.
*Frollo-''THe Hunchback of Notre Dame'' was the first movie I ever saw,so that's probably why he's one of my favorites.(He has a great song, too.) *Yzma-She can be so funny in some parts without meaning to.(Some parts I find funny probably aren't supposed to be.I laugh at everything, though:))

Ratigan: Suave, evil, bloodthirsty and he was voiced by Vincent Price. This guy used to scare the hell out of me when I was a kid. Did he really die at the end?

You claim you know of evil, do you keep that perspective when it stares you in the face?
