She doesn't have any magic or minions yet she managed to make Cinderella a slave for awhile. She's the only villian that doesn't get killed at the end.

She's the only villian that doesn't get killed at the end. That is not so! There are almost 21 living villains ;D. (I counted them from the list at www.villains-lair.com/bios/voicebios.html). Just to name a few that are still considered living that I could have named from the top of my head, there is Captain Hook from Peter Pan, Cruella De Vil (*shudders*) from 101 Dalmations, Shere Khan from the Jungle Book, Govenor Ratcliffe from Pocahontas, Hades from Hercules (of course.. he can't die lol), John Silver from Treasure Planet. Jafar from Aladin is also technically not dead since he was turned into a genie and then hence cannot die... (unless something happened in the sequels... but I don't think sequels should count so nyah ). And maybe she didn't need no stinkin' minions most of them fumble up on something anyhow .... right?

She doesn't have any magic or minions yet she managed to make Cinderella a slave for awhile. She's the only villian that doesn't get killed at the end. First off, where did you get that she has no minions? Drizella and Anastasia, not to mention Lucifer, might not be the BEST minions, but by jove they are indeed minions! Plus to piggyback on what Diana said, yesh there are SO many villains that are still alive. Just check my website's bio page that she linked already. As a personal side note, I happen to think that she is one of the stronger villains, not weaker. Why? She didn't use magic---she was intimidating enough without it! She had people afraid of her, and controlled at least 4 people's lives for a while. (I'd say being married to a man and keeping his daughter as a chambermaid is controlling him, wouldn't you?) She also had a temper, but barely showed it---unlike her anger and jealousy which was obviously apparent through even a simple glare or phrase. WILLIE is a weak villain. Heck, even Stromboli is a weak villain, but watch it when you call someone like Lady Tremaine a weak villain! Sorry...you hit a nerve.

Gracie, You read my mind!
Lady Tremaine is one of the greatest villains. What makes her so frightening is how real she is! There are cruel, dominating people out there who virutally enslave others with their sheer evil personalities. Lady Tremaine is just an archetype of such personalities.
Cinderella's story is one of the oldest fairy tales, told in more than one hundred ways around the globe. In all of them, there is some evil step-mother or similar relation, who, like Lady Tremaine, beats down the Cinderella-figure of the tale, treating her like she is worthless, lower than a servant.
That's Lady Tremaine's power: She is REAL, not some fictional, magical figure, but a real human being.

I agree with Ansuz. The fact that she was so real meant that you could relate to the story more, so you feel really sorry for the heroine and really hate the villainess, so I see her as a successful villain.
